Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the ThrowLab iPhone app. By downloading or using ThrowLab, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

License

ThrowLab grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app.

Nature of the analysis

ThrowLab provides numeric estimates and training feedback derived from computer-vision analysis of video you supply. Results depend on capture conditions including camera angle, lighting, frame rate, framing, visibility, and the frame you select. Speed, disc angle, early-flight path, comparison ranges, and progress are estimates, not measurements from a calibrated launch monitor.

ThrowLab is not a medical, biomechanical, or safety product. Disc golf is a physical activity with a risk of injury or property damage. You are responsible for your surroundings, your safety, and decisions based on the app’s feedback.

ThrowLab Pro subscriptions

New users receive 5 free video analyses and 5 free saved distance measurements, counted separately. Once you use the free allowance for a feature, continuing with it requires ThrowLab Pro, which may be offered through auto-renewable monthly and yearly subscriptions. The prices displayed in the App Store and purchase screen at the time of purchase control. Prices may vary by country or region. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.

Renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription in iPhone Settings under your Apple Account and Subscriptions. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund the current period.

Free uses

ThrowLab includes 5 free completed video analyses for new users. After five completed analyses, the next video upload requires an active ThrowLab Pro subscription. New users also receive 5 saved distance measurements; further distance tracking requires Pro. Deleting a saved throw does not restore a free use. Reinstalling the app on the same device does not reset that allowance. Subscriptions begin when you purchase.

Restoring purchases

Your subscription is associated with your Apple Account. Use Restore Purchases in the app to restore an active entitlement after reinstalling or changing devices.

Refunds

Apple processes purchases and refund requests. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your content

Videos you record or import remain yours. ThrowLab does not claim ownership of them.

Third-party information

Disc names and flight ratings may come from third-party or public catalog sources. Ratings can vary by manufacturer, plastic, run, wear, and other factors. Confirm your disc’s published ratings when that distinction matters.

Distance estimates

Distance tracking estimates the straight-line distance between the throw position and final disc position you mark. It includes any skip or roll to that position and does not measure the curved flight path or flight-only carry distance. Distance and elevation estimates depend on device tracking, surroundings, and where you mark each position. They are not survey-grade measurements.

Camera access is required for camera-assisted distance tracking. Location access supports available measurement information and local weather estimates. Keep the app open and the back camera uncovered while measuring. Measurements outside the app’s quality or distance limits may be saved in Sessions without counting toward records or trends. Recorded bests and averages are training references based on qualifying estimates, not guarantees of performance or improvement.

Only walk to the disc when it is safe and permitted. Do not enter roads, restricted areas, hazardous terrain, or other unsafe locations to complete a measurement. Review the Privacy Policy for how location information is used and stored.

Wind and weather estimates

Wind information is provided by Apple Weather through WeatherKit. Wind speed, gusts, direction, and any headwind, tailwind, or crosswind indications shown by ThrowLab are estimates based on weather-service data and available throw-direction information. They are not direct wind measurements made by your iPhone.

Conditions may differ at the exact throw location, height, and time. Weather data may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable, and saved wind information represents the estimate available when it was obtained rather than a live reading. Wind estimates provide context for practice; they do not establish how much wind changed a throw’s distance or certify weather conditions.

Do not rely on ThrowLab for severe-weather warnings or safety-critical decisions. Check current conditions and official weather alerts before playing. Apple Weather and its data providers retain their rights in the weather information. Weather-source attribution is available in the app. See the Privacy Policy for how location is used to request weather information.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that every video can be analyzed or that every estimate will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ThrowLab and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for injury, loss, or property damage arising from use of the app. Total liability is limited to the amount you paid for ThrowLab in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

These terms remain in effect until terminated. Your license ends automatically if you fail to comply with them. You may terminate your use at any time by deleting the app.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of ThrowLab after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
