Quick checks
Record at 240 fps in your iPhone’s Slo-mo camera mode, then import the clip into ThrowLab.
Keep the phone roughly perpendicular to the intended throwing line and use landscape orientation.
Begin just before the disc leaves your hand and end shortly after the disc exits the frame. Long wind-ups or follow-throughs can make the starting frame less useful.
On the Find the disc screen, scrub until the disc is out of the hand, visible, and roughly halfway across its flight through the frame.
Distance tracking
Select your disc, throwing style, and intended line, then tap Track distance. Allow Camera access and tap Start where you throw. Keep the app open and hold the phone in front of you with the back camera uncovered as you walk to your disc. Tap Finish when you reach it.
Check Camera access in iPhone Settings. Keep the back camera uncovered and follow the on-screen instructions. Allow Location access for local wind information.
Keep ThrowLab open throughout the measurement. If tracking is interrupted, follow the on-screen instructions; you may need to restart at the throwing position.
The distance runs straight from where you threw to where the disc stopped, including skips and rolls. Available elevation and wind readings appear with the result.
The app flags measurements that fall outside its tracking or distance limits. These stay in Sessions but do not count toward records, averages, or Trends.
Use Delete throw on the distance result, or swipe the throw in Sessions and confirm Delete. Sessions and distance records update when a measurement is removed.
Analysis and billing
Choose a frame where the disc is out of your hand and its edge is clearly visible. If a reading is still missing, try another frame or record in better light. Missing readings appear as a dash and are left out of Trends.
Readings from −8° through +8° are labeled Flat. In Trends, angles below −8° indicate anhyzer and angles above +8° indicate hyzer. Result cards show the angle with a Flat, Hyzer, or Anhyzer label.
Try the disc or manufacturer name. ThrowLab has an on-device catalog and can refresh search results online. If a disc is unavailable, enter its details and flight numbers manually. Discs already saved in your bag remain available.
To cancel, open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. To restore an active subscription after reinstalling, use Restore Purchases in ThrowLab while signed into the same Apple Account.
Apple processes all purchases and refund requests. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase.
New users get 5 completed video analyses and 5 saved distance measurements, counted separately. Deleting a throw does not restore a free use. Pro unlocks unlimited access to both. You can still view results you already saved.
